Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an evidenced-based psychotherapy developed by psychologist and researcher Dr. Susan Johnson. Its approach is steeped in Attachment Theory, our most robust scientific framework for understanding why humans bond and seek intimacy. Outcome studies have shown that EFT is an effective and long-lasting treatment that addresses the undercurrents of relationship distress rather than just it's communication-pattern symptoms. Dr. Ganz and his colleagues contributed to the scientific understanding of the power of EFT, showing how relationship relief through EFT can simultaneously attenuate PTSD and depression symptoms in veteran populations.
